Are you looking for an opportunity to develop and polish your communication skills? Look no further than our competitive speech and debate club! Our parent-run club, affiliated with NCFCA, caters to teenagers aged 12-18, while also offering a Junior Speech program for younger siblings who are eager to learn the art of public speaking.
At our club, we are committed to helping our members develop effective communication skills through weekly meetings covering various aspects of public speaking, including platform, limited preparation, and interpretive speeches. Throughout the fall semester, students engage in learning how to be an effective communicator by studying and practicing communication skills, writing, and delivering speeches. At the end of the semester, students participate in a practice tournament to put their skills to the test.
Proclaim also offers two styles of debate instruction: Team Policy and Lincoln Douglas. Our curricula will teach debate structure, argumentation, logic and reasoning, and research methods. Students study a debate resolution, write cases around that resolution, and compile research briefs that are used in the debate rounds.
Whether you are a seasoned debater or a complete beginner, our club provides a welcoming environment for you to grow and excel in the realm of speech and debate.
Join us on this exciting journey of learning and skill development. Unleash your potential and become a confident and articulate communicator with the support of our dedicated speech and debate club.
