Proclaim is affiliated with NCFCA - the National Christian Forensics and Communication Association (ncfca.org) in order to have a platform in which to compete. Therefore, members of Proclaim also need to affiliate with NCFCA in order to participate in the competitive speech tournaments.

NCFCA is a national organization, and the country is divided into regions for competition. Our region  (region 14) is made up of Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio.

From January through early April, students compete in regional qualifying tournaments that are held in one of the states in our region. They compete against students from all five states. Additionally, there are mixer tournaments that include a cross section of students from different regions, allowing variety in competition. Finally, online tournaments are offered to allow students the opportunity for competition without travel.

Students who do well in the qualifying tournaments are invited to the regional invitational, held at the end of April, and from there, winners advance to the national tournament held in June. In 2025 this tournament will be held in Minnesota.

Proclaim Fee Structure

Each family in Proclaim pays a yearly fee for membership. This fee covers the charge for rental of the building, honorariums for guest speakers, paper and ink for the printer, and 2 cases of paper towels for the church restrooms. In November, each family brings a gift of toilet paper, Kleenex, and hand soap to give to the church as an expression of our appreciation. Our yearly fee is $50 per family, assuming there will be enough family unit registrations to pay the building rental agreement.

NCFCA Fee Structure

Early-Bird Affiliation (before July 31st): $135 family

Regular season Affiliation (after July 31): $160 /family

A limited number of scholarships are available in the case of financial hardship.
